Mythological Defense

Over this past summer I took my first Game Development course at UF, Game Content 1. Over the summer semester I worked on my first 2D game since my old code.org games. 2D games aren’t my expertise, but the course was a great intro to Unity from a professional setting, after teaching myself. I worked on my game all summer, focusing my time on the mechanics, mostly programming. After using the package given to us for the class I wrote numerous more scripts and modified some of the given scripts. I outsourced art and sounds from sites like itch.io and opengameart.org, as well as freesound.org.

The hardest parts about putting this project consisted in the switching between scenes feature. I ended up creating duplicates of a scene and changing it a bit. However I learned much from this project and will implement in later games. The biggest notable issue in the game demonstration is the sword not transferring over from the god encounter scenes.

While this wasn’t my proudest project, it taught me many things and was a good overall experience for future games.
